Surfing 101

What a day for Max! Max wanted to take surfing lessons. What a delight it was for Dave and I to watch Max. He's a natural at surfing and seems to be hooked. Max has been begging us to take more lessons or just to rent surf board so he could hit some waves! I was so fun for Dave and I to watch Max try surfing!

Today, we drove to South Maui to try some great snorkeling spots. The snorkeling spot you see Dave, Max, and Leah is called Five Graves. We saw several big see turtles along with some beautiful fish. After snorkeling we stopped at a road side stand for some awesome fish tacos. Boy they were good! For the rest of the afternoon we spent time at Big Beach which is considered to be the beach on Maui. It was beautiful and the water crystal clear. We again enjoyed a great dinner and strolled the along the beach as we watch the sunset. Gorgeous!

Today, our third day in Maui we did some snorkeling just down the beach at Black rock. We also enjoyed the hotel pool. But nothing could be better than some delicious food while watching a fabulous sunset as we ate. We must be in paradise!

Road to Hana

Second full day on Maui we took the all day trip on the road to Hana. It was a long day but filled with lots of hiking, swimming in some great waterfall pools, jumping waves on the black sand beach. We eat pretty much all day too stopping at some delicious road side huts selling banana bread, fresh coconut, and juicy pineapple. This was a gorgeous drive on a very windy road.

We decided since we all were jet lagged we would hang out by the pool and the beach and take in some off the beautiful Maui sun. We had a blast at the beach. Max and Leah spent the day jumping waves and body surfing. After practicing in the pool with their mask and snorkels Max,Leah, and Dave did some snorkeling right off the beach.

We received the traditional greeting from the locals. The flowers in the lei still look good the next day.

Denver Airport

Good morning, We have arrived at Denver and on a five hour layover until our next leg to Maui. Dave and I are playing around with our blog figuring out how to post pictures. Max and Leah are having fit that we are posting this picture. I don't think they knew what we were going to do with the picture. We informed them that they now need to look pretty in all pictures that we take for they will never know which pictures we will be using on the blog.

Counting down the days!

We only have 7 more days until we are on our way to beautiful Maui! I have created this blog in hope that I will be able to find time each day to share some highlights of our days in Hawaii. Dave, Max, Leah, and I hope you will enjoy the pictures.
